This policy explains what information Bill Reduction Institute collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
Information you give us
When you submit our free bill review form, we collect what you enter:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your street address, city, state and ZIP code
- The type of bill or service you want help with, your current provider and what you pay per month
- Anything you write in the message box
- Your consent choice, along with the date, time and page where you gave it
The form also records the page you submitted it from and includes a hidden spam-protection field.
Information our tools do not collect
Our calculators and the negotiation script builder run in your web browser. The numbers and answers you type into them are not sent to us or stored by us.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers and basic analytics may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and how you arrived. We use it to keep the site secure and working and to understand which content is useful. Our site uses only the cookies needed for it to work and for basic analytics, plus any cookies set by partner links you choose to click.
How we use your information
- To review your bills and follow up with ways to lower them
- To respond to your questions and requests
- To connect you with savings partners, only when you have given consent on the form
- To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations
Savings partners and your consent
Our form asks for your consent before anyone contacts you. If you check the consent box, Bill Reduction Institute and our savings partners may contact you by phone, text or email about lowering your bills, including by automated means. Partners only receive your information when you have given that consent, and only to contact you about the kind of savings you asked about. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not sell your information to telemarketing lists or data brokers, and we do not share it beyond what your consent covers. We may also share information with service providers that help us run this website, store data and send messages, under confidentiality, and when required by law.
Withdrawing consent and opting out
You can withdraw consent at any time. Reply STOP to any text message, use the unsubscribe link in any email, tell anyone who calls you, or send a request through our contact page. Withdrawing consent does not affect contact that happened before.
How long we keep information
We keep form submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep records of consent, and then delete or anonymize them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of sharing. To make a request, use our contact page and mention “privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
Security
Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can access personal information and keep only what we need.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
